Wood burning stoves

There is no doubt that a real fire burning in your living room is a lovely thing to behold. The mere sight of the flames licking over the wood fuel will give you not only a sense of warmth, but raise your spirits on those dull, rainy winter days.

It is often claimed that wood burning stoves are not only be good for the environment but also a great way to cut the cost of your energy bills, add value to your property and with some you can even get free cashback from the Government. Now that has to be worth a closer look!

What sort of property would benefit from a wood burning stove?

In the past, wood burning stoves were mainly sold in the more rural areas, fitted in cottages and holiday homes, but more recently there has been a rise in sales in towns and cities.

When it comes to replacing that old boiler, why not consider replacing it with a wood burning stove? Many of our customers have and have never looked back!

But what about all the extra maintenance?

The good news is that this is just a myth. Other than an annual chimney sweep, maintenance costs are minimal and in terms of savings many of our clients rarely use the central heating now that they have a wood burning stove.

Sometimes a small burner is more than enough to heat the entire ground floor of the smaller type of house, keeping the occupants warm and cosy.

Nothing really compares to the smell and look of a real fire when it gets cold outside. They seem to be able to heat your front and your back at the same time. There is something simply more natural to a real fire to heat our home.

As for increasing the value of the property, some experts believe an increase of up to five percent can be expected, but you can be confident that it will make the house more attractive to future buyers if a wood burning stove is expertly fitted.

Is it cheaper to burn wood than gas?

When compared to non-standard heating systems there are savings to be had. A wood burning stove is 77% cheaper to run than an electric fire, 29% cheaper per kW than a gas effect fire, and 43% and 40% cheaper than an oil and LPG fire respectively.

Now has never been a better time to invest in a wood burning stove. Give us a call and we will be happy to discuss your exact heating requirements.
